I was reading my devotional today, and I came across 1 John 5:21:
"Dear children, keep yourselves from idols."
Now, next time God tells you not to do something, or not to devote yourself to something other than Him, don't see him as a strict judge. Yes, He is a judge; He is also a father. He tells us to keep ourselves from idols because He loves us.
